Establishment
Jerusalem Children and Community Development Organization (JeCCDO), previously called Jerusalem Association Children's Homes (JACH), is a legally registered and an indigenous non- governmental organization established in 1985, in response to the needs of children who were left orphaned or lacked proper care and support due to civil war, drought and displacement. It operates in four regions: Amhara, Oromyia, Dire Dawa, and Southern Ethiopia People, Nations and Nationalities.

Organizational Structure
Jerusalem Children and Community Development Organization is administered by the Board of Directors, which itself is accountable to the General Assembly. The Board is composed of diverse and high profile professionals. And the Secretariat headed by the Managing Director, manages the regular job of the organization.

Vision
The vision of JeCCDO is a society in which disadvantaged children are cared for by all responsible sectors and can grow to realize independence and self- reliance.

Mission
JeCCDO's mission is to reduce the vulnerability of children by creating enabling environment for the community with the community through the promotion of community-based childcare programs in partnership with government, NGOs, private sector and the building of professional JeCCDO organization.

Objectives
The objectives of JeCCDO are to

 » Enable communities to take care of poor disadvantaged and orphan children to become self-reliant;
 » Promote/establish effective partnership between communities and Government, NGOs and Private Sector;
 » Provide institutional care for children who were abandoned and orphaned as a result of civil war and famine, and eventually make them self- reliant and productive members of the society through Child-family Reunification and Reintegration schemes (currently being phased out); and
 » Develop and maintain JeCCDO as a professional and quality organization.
